Vehicle Technician

Porsche Centre South Lakes is looking for a Vehicle Technician.

We are a family run Porsche Centre that was established as Porsche Centre Kendal by the Parker family.

We have been dealing with our customers Porsche requirements since 1957 and are confident in being able to fulfil these for decades to come by acting in accordance with our values. Passion, Knowledge and Relationships.

Due to further expansion we are looking for someone who will help us build on the heritage of our 60 years with Porsche by embracing new technologies, whilst striving for excellence when serving our customers and each other.

As a Porsche Vehicle Technician reporting into the Aftersales Manager, your main responsibilities will be the ongoing service, repair, diagnosis and pre-delivery inspection checks of Porsche vehicles. Carrying out MOT Inspections will also be required if you have an MOT licence.

Working closely with the Aftersales Manager you will work through your allocated jobs and feedback to the front of house Service Advisor team with any additional works or escalate anything that the customer may need to be made aware of.

The role requires you to work a 40-hour week, from Monday to Friday. Saturdays will not be part of your normal working week, however these may be introduced on a rota basis at some point in the future.

More About The Role

  • Carry out routine service works and Vehicle Health Checks as per Porsche guidelines.
  • Provide additional work detail to customers and/or Service Advisors.
  • Provide regular status updates and inform the business what parts are required.
  • Complete pre-delivery inspections on new and used vehicles.
  • Ensure all work is carried out observing safe working practices of self and others.
  • Check level and quality of work through use of diagnostic equipment and road-testing vehicles after work has been carried out
  • Complete relevant service documentation (Job sheets, PDI's, service & warranty write-ups) in line with Porsche Warranty and Porsche GB requirements
  • Accurately complete job cards and Porsche PCSS system, including any written descriptions of faults found or repairs completed
  • Complete online and face to face training within required time frames

 

More About You

  • Level 3 qualification in vehicle service and repair
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician (Premium franchised dealership preferred)
  • Electrical EV & Diagnostic Skills
  • MOT Tester would be an advantage
  • Will require your own workshop tools however a toolbox will be provided
  • Team ethos approach to work
  • Excellent communicator both written and verbal
  • ‘Can do’ attitude
  • Must hold a valid clean driving licence
  • Previous German Brand background would be an advantage

Salary £32,000 to £40,000 OTE dependant on experience.
